Surface Design with my Cricut

My friend and I bought a Cricut together. I didn't want to take the plunge alone because I had never used a Cricut before. Once I got it, I was overwhelmed with all the possibilities.

After having it for a couple of months, I got the bright idea to recreate one of my digital prints in a layered papercut version. It was like a fun vector jigsaw puzzle trying to transform the print into a design that would work within the capabilities of the cardstock I was using and the machine itself. That was a bit time consuming though.

I created four layers in my vector drawing and exported them separately to the Cricut Design Space where I reassembled the layers. The machine cut them out and I never had to touch an Ex-acto knife.

I think it's a wonderful home decor piece.

You can buy it here on my Etsy page
