I want to encourage people to create their own unique lifestyle. We all know what we want. We just need the tools to do it. Make your self.

Make It Work, founded by Alyson Jon Toone, has a mission to encourage people to create their lives through creative workshops and great design. Rooted in design thinking, Make It Work aims to creatively solve problems of inequality in life skills and craft.

Our workshops feature an unapologetic feminist and BIPOC perspective.

Our purpose is not to create cutesy crafts, but to teach useful skills to create a handcrafted life. Our craft workshops are designed for those who want to color outside of the lines. In fact, coloring outside the lines is encouraged here.

Our craft workshops are designed to encourage a critical thinking approach to our daily lives. Everyday we are scientists, engineers, and designers. Make It Work workshops connect these daily actions with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics).

We are proud to be a black-owned and woman-owned business.
